Worm cast is superior to conventional aerobic composts and fertilisers in a number of areas. These include:
- LEVEL OF PLANT NUTRIENTS. Particularly nitrates and also P, K, S, and MG supply rates to plant are increased by worm cast.
- LEVELS OF BENEFICIAL MICRO ORGANISMS. Worm cast greatly exceeds conventional composting with respect to the levels of beneficial microbial activity.
- ABILITY TO STIMULATE PLANT GROWTH. This is the area in which most interesting and exciting results have been obtained. Many researchers have found that worm cast stimulates further plant growth, even when the plants are already receiving optimal nutrition.
